We are proud to announce that we have just signed Vanessa Caswill for commercials and music videos.
Vanessa Caswill is an emerging filmmaker with a theatrical background, having studied drama at the University of Birmingham. Her work reflects that background with a clear emphasis on performance, but married to a strong focus on detailed art direction and shot construction. Her style has been recognised as mature, innovative and original.
Her film “Pudding Bowl” has gained a great deal of press over the past year including winning the 4Talent award in 2007. “Pudding Bowl” tells the story of a child’s ability to overcome adversity (in this case the dreaded pudding bowl haircut) through the power of her imagination.
"I'm always trying to find a way of capturing other people's perceptions of the world; of how something so mundane to one person can mean so much to another," says Vanessa
Pudding Bowl is a great example of Vanessa’s style - an ethereal, feminine quality, combined with visually stunning cinematography.
Vanessa is in post-production for a super 16mm short film/pop promo ‘The Escape Artist’ for up and coming band Revere. She is also in pre-production for one of this year’s Digital Shorts for Screen South, in association with the UK Film Council, which she will be shooting in May 2008. Watch this space…
